Cold Aisle / Warm Aisle

Due to the constantly increasing density of computing power in data processing centers, the amounts of heat generated and the need to use effective cooling methods are also increasing. Most data processing centers have adequate cooling capacity, but lack adequate infrastructure for effective coolant delivery to high-density areas. The Schneikel company presents a cabinet system with a sliding door and a roof, which allows building a data processing center using “cold” or “warm corridor” technology. Such a solution ensures physical separation of hot and cold air flow and effective cooling of IT equipment. In the "cold corridor" system, the cold air enters a corridor with a width of 120 cm between the rows of cabinets via the technological floor or by means of row heat exchangers. In the "warm corridor" system, the heat generated by active devices is dissipated into the corridor, and the cold air is supplied from the data box environment. The data box solution is a room in which the cold air is completely separated from the warm air generated by active devices. The front and rear part of the cabinet should be perforated with an air permeability of 80% to ensure the best possible air flow through the cabinet. A series heat exchanger can also be installed in the box designed by Schneikel, allowing devices with a very high power density to be cooled. By using the Data Box solution, we also increase the security factor. Access to the server environment can be limited by electronic access control and all events can be recorded by a higher-level computer system.
